The Texan is a Southern-inspired food brand rooted in a simple idea: Welcome to Our Table. Those words come directly from our cafe menu — a reflection of recipes passed down through generations and new creations born from entertaining family and friends. That same spirit drives everything we do, whether you're grabbing a coffee at our Bothell cafe, catching The Texan Express at a local event, or letting us feed the people who matter most to you.
Welcome to Our Table
We operate across three expressions of the same brand. The Texan Cafe & Coffee Shop in Bothell, Washington is our brick-and-mortar home — a neighborhood gathering place serving Southern-inspired breakfast and lunch alongside specialty coffee and unique beverages. The Texan Catering Services brings our food and hospitality to your event, at whatever level of experience you are looking to create. The Texan Express is our mobile trailer, built to travel the Pacific Northwest for festivals, markets, and private events.
What makes The Texan different starts long before the food arrives. At the heart of our catering is a question we bring to every client: Who are you taking care of — and what do you want them to feel? We believe the best food experiences are shaped by understanding why an event matters before we ever talk about what's on the menu.

From there we work across four levels of service — from simple, quality-first pickup meals that let great food speak for itself, to fully styled events where the food becomes part of the design. The menu is never fixed. The same ingredient can appear as a pulled pork baked potato at Level 1 and as blue cheese over crispy pork belly atop creamed potato cups at Level 4. We build around your vision, not the other way around.
Ross and Amanda Baker founded The Texan after more than twenty years in education, bringing with them a deep conviction that showing up for people matters — and that food is one of the most honest ways to do it. They run The Texan alongside their two sons, John Ross and Remington, and a team that has genuinely internalized the mission. Customers consistently remark that there is something authentic about The Texan — that they can tell the people behind it actually care. They're right. They do.
We don't run The Texan to see how many products we can sell. We run it to make a difference.
The morning coffee, the food made the way you'd make it for people you love, the beautifully styled table at your celebration — those are the vehicle. The destination is always the person.
